Musculoskeletal Evaluation -
Helps determine strength, ROM, sensation, spasm, posture, flexibility, joint play, postural stability, balance, coordination, muscle control, functional status. Understanding these parameters helps to ensure the cause of pain, impairment and dysfunction are treated to maximum correction and prevention where possible. All activities are geared towards restoring maximum function or adapting to allow maximum function.
Neuromuscular Evaluation-
Helps determine neurological deficit
and function with respect to strength, ROM, sensation, neurologically based muscle tone, proprioception, joint position sense, coordination, balance, synergy influences and functional status. Neuromuscular approaches to treatment help to optimize strength, motion, and function without
worsening abnormal muscle tone.
