Atlantic Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, Inc. utilizes the Isernhagen Work Systems FCE. This is a comprehensive, objective testing of an individual's ability to perform work related tasks. The FCE involves several hours of intense evaluation over two days. The therapist works with the client on a one-to-one basis through the entire FCE.
The Isernhagen FCE utilizes the Kinesiophysical approach to work evaluation. The therapist, with knowledge of anatomy, pathology, physiology and kinesiology provides an interactive and objective approach to testing. The therapist reviews the medical records and performs a musculoskeletal assessment before proceeding with the FCE. The FCE stresses physical abilities to the maximum in order to accurately document observations regarding work and activities of daily living. The therapist's knowledge of pathology, and the movement patterns associated with certain pathologies, will allow them to identify safe behaviors and actions and keep all testing within safe parameters.

The FCE reports are beneficial to the employees, employers, physicians, insurance companies/case managers and attorneys. The objective data can be used to determine return to work ability, suggest modification of work or other occupational changes and/or identify weaknesses that can be addressed through work rehabilitation programs.
