A Drivers Rehab Specialist can provide invaluable feedback for physicians to make the final determination on a patients driving future. Without the assistance of a CDRS; determining a patients ability to drive from diagnosis alone can be a very difficult choice.

Training or co-piloting can be utilized to re-teach individuals how to drive safely and responsibly.

A Drivers Evaluation consists of actual behind the wheel testing of all aspects of the driving task in all types of traffic.

Evaluation to determine if any adaptive technology is indicated and to ensure the correct equipment is obtained.

Evaluation and training in the proper operation of vehicle with adaptive technology to eliminate the risk of having an accident.

Most patients can return to driving with the proper training and equipment regardless of diagnosis.

If the State revokes an individual?s driver?s license because of a permanent disability, a Drivers Rehabilitation Program, working in conjunction with the client?s physician(s), can prescribe adaptive equipment and provide training that can enable the individual to regain the license and resume driving safely and independently.

A Drivers Rehab Specialist can provide invaluable feedback for physicians to make the final determination on a patients driving future.

When a physician or family members have concerns about an individual's ability to drive because of age or diagnosis, the Drivers Rehabilitation Program provides objective testing of driving ability and recommendations for necessary training and/or accommodations to return to safe driving.
